Why should I consign and Shop with Just Between Friends? Consignors have the opportunity to get money back from their children's high quality items, providing extra money for the household budget. Consignors sell their items without the headache of a garage sale. Consignors are able to find high quality merchandise at a fraction of the retail price. This is recycling at its best! Consigning with Just Between Friends is better than a typical consignment store because you set the price and your check is mailed to you within a couple of weeks. Did we mention that you make 65%? Customer Questions Q.How often do you have Just Between Friends Sales? A. Twice a year.  Our Spring/Summer sale is typically in March and our Fall/Winter sale is in September of each year. Q.What hours are you open to the public? A. Click here to view our calendar page. Q.Where is the Norman sale located? A. We are located at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Norman.  Click here for directions.  Q. Are children allowed on opening day? A. Yes, children are welcome at the sale but PLEASE use good judgement when you bring them. It is very busy and little ones underfoot may get into places they shouldn't. If possible, give yourself some alone time to shop with peace of mind. Q. Are the sales located indoors? A. Yes. Sales are located in air-conditioned/heated buildings. Q. Are there any parking fees or entrance fees? A. There are no parking fees and admission is FREE. Q. What should I bring when shopping at the sale? A. Bring a laundry basket or tub to put your items in while you shop!  A list of your child's measurements might be helpful, as well as a  tape measure.  Click here for additional shopping tips Q. What forms of payment do you accept? A. Cash, Check, Mastercard and Visa. Consignor Questions Q. What is a consignor? A. A consignor ... prepares and brings quality children's items to be sold.  JBF will market, advertise, provide the building, and host the sale.  We do all the paperwork and muscle work.     Q. Who can consign their items and become a seller? A. Anyone can consign their children's items with Just Between Friends. We request that you have a minimum of 20 items or $50 worth of items. Q. How do I sign up to become a consignor? A. Just click on our "Online Signup" page and fill out the form. You will recieve an email confirmation within moments.  Registering is quick and easy!  Remember to read the information located on our "all you need to know to consign" page. Q. Can I keep the same consignor number for all JBF sales? A. Once on the mailing list, your assigned consignor number remains the same.  The OKC and Norman JBF sales have the same owner and share a mailing list, so If you consign in OKC and Norman you keep the same consignor number for both sales.  Just remember to register separately for each sale you want to consign in (registration is also required each season that you consign, so we can plan accordingly) .  Each JBF sale is owned independently but if you want to use a consignor number from another sale just email me and I will check to see if the number is available Q. Do consignors get to shop early? A. Yes!  Consignors shop before the public.  Click here for consignor presale times.  Q. What percentage of the sales do I receive?  A. Consignors receive 65% of their sales. If you volunteer for just one 3-hour shift you will make 70% on all of your sales.  A $10 consignor fee will be deducted from your consignor check. Q. Who does the pricing? A. You set your own price and you get to decide if it is discounted on our half-price day. Check out our "how to tag" page for pricing guidelines. Q. What kind of tags do I use to price my items? A. With our barcoding system the tags will be formatted to print on an 81/2 x 11 page.  Remember you must use white cardstock paper...we are unable to accept tags printed on standard copy paper since paper tags are easily torn. (you can find 81/2 x 11 cardstock paper at Wal-mart) Click here to go to myjbftags and get started. Q. Should I star my items for the half price sale? A. Be selective on clothes that you star. We suggest that you let your clothing items sell in the percent off sales. Mark the starting price up if it is something you are sentimental about, but of course it is your decision. Remember, starred items WILL remain Full Price and customers are shopping for non-starred items on half-price day. Q. What percentage of my items can I expect to sell? A. Most consignors sell approximately 80% of their items in sizes 2-8. For sizes under 24 months the percentage drops due to the sheer volume of merchandise received. People receive infant clothing as gifts, hand me downs etc. The older sizes (10-16) tend to sell at a lower percentage as children become pickier when they near the teen and pre-teen years. Q. How long should I give myself to drop off my items? A. Please allow approximately one hour for drop off (dependent upon the amount of items you bring).  Click here for specific drop off times and information. Q. When do I pick up my unsold items? A. Please click here for specific pick up times and information. Q. Can I have a friend drop off and/or pick up my items? A. Yes, but please make sure you send your signed consignor waiver (which is attached to your confirmation email when you register)  click here for detailed information concerning pick up. Q. Do I have to sort through the racks to find my unsold items? A. No, when you pick up your unsold items, your hanging garments will already be sorted by Consignor# for easy pickup. As time permits we try to have all of the other items sorted, too. Q. How long does it take to receive my check? A. Your check will be mailed to you fourteen days after the end of the sale. Q. Will I know what items have sold? A. Yes, with our barcoding system you will be able to keep a record of all the items you sell.  Also, if you donate items at the end of the sale you will be able to print off an inventory list for your taxes and we will send you a donation slip with your check. Q. Where do I find hangers? A. We require plastic tube hangers which can be found at most discount stores. Several department stores, will give you leftover hangers at the end of the day, if you need a lot, ask if you can buy them. The other place to try is your local dollar store. Q. Do I get my hangers back? A.  All JBF clothing items are sold with hangers so we are unable to return consignor hangers.  Your unsold clothing will be returned on hangers. Q. If I consign my items, do I have to stay during the sale? A. No. Consignors drop off their items and put them out on the selling floor during the designated drop-off times and come back during the designated times to pick up their unsold items. We do the rest! Q. What items are you taking? A. All clothing must be current season. For our March sale, we will be accepting Spring/Summer clothing only. Save your Fall/Winter items for our September sale. Other great items are toys, books, videos, strollers, baby equipment, nursery items, large play equipment, bedding, cribs, changing tables, etc.  We accept anything related to babies or children! Q. Can I bring jeans and capris? A. Both of these items would be fine for the spring or fall sales. Please ensure that the knees and bottoms of jeans are in excellent condition. If we get an abundance we may have to limit them due to space. Q. What about shoes? A. We do not accept shoes at the Norman sale.  Q. Do you accept lightweight pants or long sleeve shirts for the spring sale? A. Jeans, lightweight khakis, and capris are fine.  All other pants should be saved for the fall sale.  We accept the Gymboree-type transitional spring clothing lines, which occassionally include light weight long sleeve shirts.  If rack space becomes limited we may not accept borderline items until the fall.   Q. Do you accept short sleeve shirts for the fall sale? A. We accept short sleeve boys dress shirts if they are fall colors and style.  All other short sleeve shirts should be saved for the spring.  If rack space becomes limited we may not accept borderline items until the fall. Q. What sizes do you go up to in children's clothing? A. We accept newborn through size 16. Q. Do you accept junior clothing? A. We do not accept junior clothing at the Norman sale. Q. Do you accept maternity wear? A. Yes, we do accept maternity clothing. Due to limited rack space and In an effort to ensure current maternity styles we can only accept the following maternity brands: Old Navy, Gap, Mimi and Pea in the Pod and boutique.  All seasons of maternity items are accepted. Q. I am selling a crib, does it need to be assembled? A. Yes. Cribs sell much better when the customer can see what it actually looks like and it helps to ensure that all pieces are present. Q. Do you accept stuffed animals? A. No. Stuffed animals take up a large amount of space and do not sell very well. Volunteer Questions Q. Can anyone sign up as a volunteer and attend the presales? A. Yes, anyone may sign up to volunteer on a first come/first serve basis. You do not have to be a consignor to volunteer. We welcome husbands and grandparents. click here to volunteer Q. Can I bring a guest to the volunteer presale? A. Volunteers may not bring guests unless the guest completes their applicable work times. Each pre-sale pass is good for one person to enter the presale. Please no children at the presales. Q. How long are the shifts? A.  Volunteer shift times vary.  Check out the volunteer shifts on the "i want to volunteer" page. Q. How can I make more money consigning at JBF? A.  If you volunteer for just one 3-hour shift you will earn an extra 5% on all the items you sell...that means you will make 70% instead of 65%. Q. Do you provide childcare for volunteers? A. We apologize, but we do not offer childcare at this time. Q. I'm pregnant or have a medical condition. Is it OK for me to be a volunteer? A. If you are pregnant or have a medical condition, you will want to volunteer when the workload is less. We have several shifts available with jobs that can be done sitting down. If you need these positions, please email us with your request after registering and we will try to accommodate your request. Volunteer Presale Questions Q. Who is allowed to shop at the early presale? A. Only those who register to volunteer may attend the early presale (click here to register).  Husbands, grandmothers, and friends must earn their own pass. No children at the pre-sales please. Q. Can I bring a stroller to the presale? A. No. However, we do have a limited number of X-large handled shopping bags for your convenience or you may bring a laundry basket to hold all of your bargains.  We also have a hold area for your convenience.
